Friday Harbor Ice Cream in San Juan Island

Many flavors but not good quality. Whatever you do stay away from the milkshakes. They taste like watered down chunky ice cream. Customer service is not the greatest.

Worst costumer service in the area! My daughter and her cousins went down to get ice cream for birthday party. When they asked for a sample she rolled her eyes and yelled FINE! She assumed that they were only there for samples. The only time she seemed happy, was when they pulled out their money. When they ordered, she was annoyed with how long they were taking. When they got their ice cream, it was the same size as a single scoop as the guy in front of them. The kids thought they did something wrong, and they still treated her with respect. Even after she treated them like they didn't have money. This has happened to them before, and this will be the last time.

First, I would put negative stars if I could. Second, some of the ice cream was partly melted. Third, you can only pay using cash (which is disappointing since this is a tourist location). Fourth, they didn’t help people based by their order in line they would help whoever was ready. Fifth, the customer service was nonexistent! I have never in my life experience such rude employees. They started YELLING at my family in front of a line full of people because we were simply asking a question about our bill. They claimed we had an attitude and that we were in the wrong which was not the case. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would tell you to walk a block around the corner to a different ice cream shop that actually treats their customers with respect.** Read the rest of the reviews from past customers and you can see they don’t care about anything except money! Greedy, Greedy, Greedy!!!!

Have always enjoyed the ice cream here when visiting Friday Harbor and staying at the marina. An almost overwhelming selection! But I love the variety, truly something for everyone. The location to the waterfront can't be beat with a great spot outside with benches to sit and enjoy the views. Quick service and cash only.

I've gone twice in the past 2 days (it's a bike tour and I'm a hard core ice cream nut). I think the customer service comments are the perfect storm of stressed ferry crowds and overwhelmed employees. I got the sense it is a two way street of both parties not being polite. Solution? Just go in the off hours. Be a good human and read the signs.The ice cream is elaborate and the selection is clever. If they accepted credit cards that wonderful price would go up. While I have a flare for the high class cones and amazing scoops of Portland it was certainly a wonderful vacation treat. Definitely recommended.

We tried lemon meringue pie, huckleberry, and pineapple coconut. The lemon meringue was awesome. Huckleberry was very good as well.

Great place to go after a long day out on the water or walking around. Huge selection of ice cream and staff is friendly! Prices were also fair for a touristy spot.

I, too, found this business to provide HORRIBLE customer service. Happily walked up the hill and spent my money elsewhere. Apparently they have all the business they need. I'm sure they will never have mine nor my friends' and family's.

The Friday Harbor Ice Cream shop. Is great place to get ice cream in town. Yes if get crazy around ferry time. But most places in town get this way too. As for only taking CASH the banks charge to much for little sales. So then they have to charge you more for the same. This ice cream shop has over 100 favorite of good ice cream to pick from. I think the people are very nice too. Maybe someone should treat people like people and not a servant. I have been going here for years and this place get 5 STARS. Just slow down and enjoy the island speed and life.

Tons of flavors which is a huge bonus, but the reason I only gave this place two stars is because the customer service is absolutely awful. I tried to order a rum raisin ice cream but was denied because I wasn't carrying ID, although Surprise! Rum raisin ice cream is made with cooked down rum concentrate, even a small kid would be fine with it due to the fact it isn't alcoholic and never requires an ID. She made me reorder and was very rude, dry, and impatient. I highly suggest spending your money on some of the other ice cream locations up the street with exceedingly friendly service and very good ice cream.

Insanely good ice cream here, I was on vacation here and i dont even remember how many times i went back to get more, I know it was at least 3 times one of the days. Do stop here and try some of the flavors.

Absolutely stocked full of the most decedent selection of sweet, savory and down right delicious ice cream. The creamery is owned and operated by a local family who's been serving scoops to Islanders and visitors alike for many years. Bring cash.

Searching for a coffee place in cold, we found this. Around 150 ice cream variety and most of them are really good. I tried Licorice and it was damn good.

The ice cream is delicious. They only take cash but that's not too big a deal. They provide service quickly even moving through a long line. I stop there almost every time I have a ferry wait.

The owner kept trying to serve another customer ahead of us, which I find rude. We were there first, he wasnt asking to go first, the owner should have served us first as we were there first. There’s a lot of ice cream competition. He should work to provide better and fair service!! And they care cash only. Who carries cash anymore? Last time going there.

This is the least friendly establishment in Friday Harbor. I bought my 2 kids ice cream and the old grumpy lady charged them the adult cone price so I corrected her. She still didn't want to give me correct change, not a big deal but still a dishonest move. I let her know she could be more friendly and she promptly told me to "F Off" as we walked off and customers and kids heard. Not once did I curse at her. Unprovoked and unacceptable. Take your business elsewhere in this nice community.

Awesome they have ice cream with Bourbon and whiskey. Yes, you have to be 21 or older to buy it!! Amazing flavors; I would recommend this place!!

I encountered the worst customer service I have had in a really long time. I think the only reason they have business is due to location. I highly doubt they have any regulars with the customer service I experienced. I would never return. I ended up walking out without making a purchase.

A "must stop" destination for ice cream in the summertime. Cash only so be prepared for that.

Delicious ice cream, huge variety, perfect views of harbor!

Pretty excellent ice cream. I got the cookie dough, the huckleberry and huckleberry cheesecake, and they were delicious. Only warning is they don't take credit card-cash only.

I love the ice cream there. And they have the best fruit flavor ice cream. I've heard people even drive up to the islands just for the ice cream. Don't know why the other customers are complaining about their customer service. May be that's true but I still want to have their ice cream. Not too sweet, fresh tastes, very creamy, just delicious.

This was the worst costumer service ever!! The lady treats kids with disrespect. She also gave us kids small scoops. Two scoops of ours equals one normal scoop at the place. My aunt is going to confront the lady now. She needs to not treat her costumers as if they were animal. I just was not happy with the overall service.

The best sorbet that I have had in a very long time. They have 72 flavors of ice cream.

Cash only. Good selection. If there is a line it usually moves quickly. Great atmosphere being down by the water. Go here often with friends that visit from out of town. Then I walk up to Kings and buy a half gallon for the same price haha
